Beating a dead horse is sickening, but may be fun.
An inventor could put the cart before the horse, and end up with the equivalent of a rear-wheel drive vehicle.

Clearly the opaque truth, since the lie is obvious.

Advertisers have known this for ages, and use opaque truths such as misleading statistics.
