It sounds as though your SectType.txt file is/has been changed. That would cause the wrong pic to show up. If you are using any mods, you must start the map editor with the mod launcher utility or the wrong .txt file will be modified in your default folder. When you use the mod launcher it will place the files in the proper directory for the mod your using/editing. Also did you download the planet pack? It will add more planets, but you will have to edit the SectType.txt file to make use of them.
