I just got a new laptop to replace my aging Compaq (comjunk?). It's an Hp zd8000 with a 3.0 processor, ATI 128mb card, wireless lan, XP home, and a 17" widescreen. I must say that processing turns is now much quicker in SE.

Comjunk? Compaq made great computers till HP got in there and started screwing things up. Wouldn't call the HP an upgrade...

Just get insurance to cover your butt. Things sometimes happen that are beyond your control. Students studing lock picking, fires, natural disasters, theft, etc. Best to cover your bases and your stuff.

Never understood why HP makes such poor computers. Their laser printers and industrial instrumentation products are excellent, and yet their computers aren't very good.
