Heh. Noticed that too, and started wondering about immortals. Lich or saurolich wouldn't go out on turn 2; Phoenix might, but only with Marignon or Abysia. So ... Wonder what the dominion was?

With base C'tis, definitely could. If it's got a high death magic value, there's a distinct chance of it terrorizing the enemy army to rout well before they can touch the lich; won't work against knights or heavy cavalry, but any old militia will run in fear often enough to make it a good idea. Even if it fails you'll only lose a couple points of research, so it's certainly worth a shot.
