New Stickies! Just what makes a thread "stickable"?

See those 6 threads at the top of the list in this forum that never go any further down, regardless of how long ago they were last posted in? Those threads are this forum's "stickies", called such because they "stick" to the top of the forum. Making an ordinary thread "sticky" or removing that status from an existing "sticky" is one of the special abilities of moderators and administrators on these boards, though ordinary forum members can request that a thread be "stickied" if they feel it is worthy of such status.
