I post padded a time or two as a newbie trying to find out at what levels the ranks change. The result of that was a thread very much like this one. There's a list of those values somewhere. The novelty of it wore off long ago.

#1: Random forum guy: 'Hey look, I gained a rank!'
#2: Random forum guys: 'Yaay for you!'
#3: Other random forum guy: 'Hey, we certainly wouldn't want to post pad, cause that would be wrong. Wink, wink.'
#4: Other random forum guys: 'Hey, yeah! Wink, wink.'
#5: Narf: 'Weeeeeee!'
#6: Fyron: 'Post padding is senseless and bad for the forum. So are post counts.'
#7: Random forum guy: 'It's fun!'
#8: Other random forum guy: 'And you're post-padding too!'
Repeat steps 5 through 7 till everyone gets bored.
