Eh, it's pretty simple (and pointless
) ... "offer sacrifice" increases the number of sacrifices; "save souls" reduces it; "deploy troops" increases the number of soldiers; "retrograde advance" reduces it... the more sacrifices and the fewer soldiers, the more manic Cthulhu gets... conversely a large number of soldiers or a small number of sacrifices is bad for Cthulhu... too far in either direction and the game ends (I'll leave the two endings as surprises)
... also, both the "sacrifices" and "troops" counters tick down gradually as Cthulhu consumes sacrifices and kills soldiers.
