				 I\'m looking for
a space game(not a sim) which allows the player to controllarge numbers of ships including fighters. Most games seem
to bundle fighters into 1 big formation. I would like to be able to handle them individually or group them if I wish.

 Any suggestions?

 thanks

 Mark

 | There are 3 games in the series. Would it be worth getting all 3?

Well...the second one isn't all that great. I am referring to Cataclysm, not HW2. Cataclysm was produced outside of Relic...and had a few merits, such as a mixture of old and new technologies. However, it was generally not looked fondly upon by hard-core fans.
Homeworld 2 has squadron control, where a single unit of fighters can encompass up to 5 ships in pre-determined formations. however, Homeworld 2 is easily modable and simple mods allowing individual control of fighters are invariably available.

The mod known as Point defense Systems (well, it was known as that...not sure if it still goes by that) is a mod that has grown to large proportions and is rather popular. If you want a good tactical experience, I feel at least a little obligated to suggest that particular mod.

 | Thanks for the info.
I downloaded one called Complex to try - still waiting for the game to arrive so haven't tried it yet.
Will try point defense systems as well.

Too bad someone doesn't make something like the old
Renegade Legion Interceptor game.
