Re: Esocket error starting SEIV in windows 95?
This problem came up before, same issues, same solution. It should work.
As for that XP machine... backup your files to a second drive, format & reinstall.

Re: Esocket error starting SEIV in windows 95?
I was hoping it was something simple like that.
As for XP I have nothing to reinstall from, I would have done that as soon as I bought it. They said the program was on a second partition of the drive, which explained why I have 32 Gb on a 40Gb drive, but I'll be darned if I know how to find it much less use it, if it's really even there.

Get a Knoppix live CD and see if it sees the multiple partitions?

Re: Esocket error starting SEIV in windows 95?
I'll give it a shot. It will take me about a week to get it home though. I'm going with this one: KNOPPIX_V4.0.2CD-2005-09-23-EN.iso, there are 4 others that look like they go with it: .md5, .md5.asc, .sha1, and .sha1.asc. Do I need to put them on the same CD? Anything I'm missing?
SEIV works fine now on my old comp, so I can at least play that. Can get adamant through setup though, freezes on the race selection screen. could an issue with one of the races cause it to freeze without an error message?

Why use a special CD to check for multiple partitions? All you need to do is go into Disk Management.
Simple right-click on My Computer, go to Manage and then click on Disk Management in the left pane. It will show you all partitions found on the computer.
Even if one of the partitions isn't formatted it will show up here, giving you an option to format.

Re: Esocket error starting SEIV in windows 95?
I'll check it out tonight, I tried everything I could find on there, I'm sure I checked there, but it never hurts to look again. If it is there how would I go about accessing it?

It sounded like they had done something to make it hidden from Windows...

Re: Esocket error starting SEIV in windows 95?
Ok I found something showing there are 2 partitions in the "system information" on my drive. One is just under 5Gb, the other is the 32Gb that is useable. But I still can't find any way to acces it. It doesn't list any drive letters there just disk#0, partition#0 and disk#0, partition#1. Will the knoppix CD let me reload windows from the hidden partiton onto driveC?
