To be honest, I really can't blame them for deleting the post. Think of it this way; would you like a fan of GC2 coming over here and making a post that...well essentially advertises GC2 to all who may see, on a forum that's supposed to be for SEIV/V??

Granted, here it might not be deleted, in fact I'd be surprised if it was. But we might not be exactly enthused about it either

My post was just giving information in a professional advertisement way.

Yes it was a bit long but it was all information. I've seen other post longer stuff. Thats what forums are for. Forum is not "chat" even though many of us use it for that.

That's right. It was an advertisement, which makes it clearly bad form. Why are you coming here and expecting people to support you in your blatant attempt to troll/spam?

Galciv2 was fun for about 2 months. SE4 is still fun 5 years later. That's all that matters to me - if Frogboy's forum microcosm is naive, I'm fine with that. But I don't view this as us vs. them. I agree with Puke - "the more successfull each one is, the better for both."

I echo Graeme Dice's comment... but add that while your heart is in the right place, your method needs refinement. SE should be celebrated, and I'd like to see it spread around some more to a wider user base. So I slip in a post about SE every now and then on the galciv forums, but yours was too much. Space Empires forum-goers are above flamboyance.

There are more constructive ways. Please let this go and chalk it up to lessons learned =)
