I am going to bust your bubble and tell you why the Air Force is closing down the mountian. www.spacedaily.com Sky Guard article and THAAD. Ballistic weapons are about to become obsolete. And the Air Force is starving for money so they are going to cut back everywhere they can. This is a huge paragdime(sic) shift. Do not be suprised if the United states announces one day that they are getting rid of nuclear weapons.

It would be nice to think that is possible. Where deterent force is no longer necessary in a world where nobody has an army capable of actually invading anyone.
They could make amusement parks out of the old bases and call them "Six Missles" park.  |

Yeah, would be nice to have a world where defensive technology greatly outweighs offensive technology. Then you could shoot the poor and not be attacked by the police. 
Heh, on a more serious note... I give them a century or two before a major nation invents nanotechnology and accidentally destroys the world. |

I followed that link, saw nothing matching either, did a page search on the word "guard" and got no result...huh?
And, uhh, considering that near the top of the page is an advertisement for "Sea Monkeys Space Shuttle", I'd be a wee bit skeptical about anything there, if I did find it
