 | Buy it at Gamestop and it will - you get a free copy of SE4 when you buy SE5
Besides, Fyron's right - SE4 is a mature game, having 6 years worth of modding and strategic analysis under its belt. SE5 is new, potentially unbalanced, sparse in the mod department, etc. It's like choosing between Windows XP and Vista - do you go with the tried & true, or the "ooh, shiny"?

 | Choosing between WinXP and Vista isn't choosing between "tried&true" and "ooh, shiney!", it's choosing between crap that has been left to dry and crap that's fresh from the pooper

				 Re: upgrade 2 IV Deluxe?
Never fear, after some tinkering and downloading of half a dozen different mods (Star Trek, great stuff) Ive been playing for all its worth. Now Ive got 12 days of leave Ive got to take before Oct. Hmmmmmmm!! Me thinks Ill need a shave and a haircut before I go back to work! Thanks for the help guys, Ive been been away from the game for some tiume trying new things but this is one I kinda drift back to everytime. As for SEV, Ive learned to wait a while on new games...got burnt real bad with MOO3 and Reach for the Stars.
Thanks all, Ill try to be more active, though the time for modding I fear is for not. I intend to try to learn anyway.

 Neener neener!
I didn't waste my money on either one
I took one look at the interview with the designer, where he talked about the changes to be expected in MOO3, and went, "Whoooey! that's sure going to suck unwashed monkey toes! No way am I wasting my money on that crap."

The corporate game industry of today is constitutionally incapable of re-creating any of the glories of the pre-corporate game world. Origins Systems is dead and gone. Nobody will ever make another Wing Commander Privateer. Sic transit gloria mundi.

But I do wonder what Steven and Grisel Barcia are doing these days
You want to hear one to make your spine crawl in horror? John Romero and Stevie Case are making mini-games for PDA's and cell phones. Lo, how the mighty have fallen |

Steve Barcia was involved with Metroid Prime on the Gamecube... OK, that was a few years back, but much more recent than MOO2

Ed, oh really? I suppose making console games is one step above doing games for PDA's and cellphones
I personally enjoyed MOM even more than MOO. I still play it sometimes |
