I'll add my hope for this as well. Remapping the key (via remapkey.exe, etc) isn't a very good option since you then have the 'e' key remapped for _every_ application until you restore the original mappings.

I agree the 'e' key does need to be remapped within a patch, however remapkey.exe is a better workaround than having no workaround at all. It's also very easy and quick to use.

Re: Please change the \"e\" shortcut
if youre playing single player and accidentally end your turn before youre ready, you can quickly close the application before the hosting process finishes and you wont stale the turn youll just have to redo what youve done from the start

Re: Please change the \"e\" shortcut
Yeah, I liked Dom2 system more too. It was kind of logical to have end of orders command ('e') separate from hosting. I would often invoke 'e' just to commit my current orders, then think and maybe get back to correct some orders. Hosting from a separate screen was kind of cool - hard to do it by mistake...

And what if you're in a blitz or other TCP game? It needs to be fixed, people have asked for it since way back in Dom2.

Re: Please change the \"e\" shortcut
I think even shift-e is problematic, as R (research) and S (search) are still right next to it. Alt-e or maybe even something different like ctrl-return would be much better.
Of course, bringing back the Dom2 hosting dialogue would be the best solution.

Re: Please change the \"e\" shortcut
Happened to me once, too. Damned annoying.
Reminds me of how Silent Hunter III has Enter fire torpedoes. There were tonnes of accidentally launched eels until a mod changed it to Ctrl+Enter.

Re: Please change the \"e\" shortcut
It should be noted that shift+e already is a commander order: Break Seige. At least one of the two should bechanged. If caps lock is on and you try to break a seige... I doubt it will be long before that happens in a few TC/IP blitz games...
