Re: looking for an early age pbem game
Looks like we are getting there. I am good with any map by the way. I suggested Desert Eye becuase it was a different map. I would just like to not play on the same map all the time. Its all up to Ajr.

Re: looking for an early age pbem game
I checked the map list; I didn't see anything more appropriate than Desert Eye, or I would have suggested it.
EvilHomer, I think we can probably get one more on this map, but I'd like to get the game going soon. Please try to get your pretender up by tomorrow morning so I can get things running. I don't think we need more than one water nation; five land+1 water will still leave more land provinces per player than there are water provinces, and all of the current nations have something resembling underwater capability (Abysia can reanimate, although they'd have to get a commander or trade for a ring of water breathing)

Re: looking for an early age pbem game
Thanks for getting the pretenders in, everyone; I think we're ready to go.
I have this set up as a network game. The server has IP address 71.145.171.112, port 1610. To join the game, go through Network->Connect to a Dominions Server, and answer the questions it asks you. Play your turn and hit end turn as usual; once everyone has done their turn, it will move to the next turn, with no file shuffling needed.
Currently, the server is set to quickhost on no fixed schedule, but I'd still like to try to keep to the 24 hour schedule we had last time. I can set the server to autohost after 24 hours, but I don't want to do that until we're sure everyone can connect.
Also, I just realized that I don't have everyone's email address. I do have the server set up to send out mail when a turn rolls over; if you send me your email address, I'll add you to the list that gets such mail.
What follows is advice for Windows users to make playing server games easier; you don't actually need to do this, but you may find it helps. Make a copy of your shortcut to dom3 and rename it something that you'll associate with this game (I called it Desert Eye). Right-click on the new shortcut and choose properties. The "target" field will contain something like "C:\Program Files\dominions3\dom3.exe". After the closing quote, add
-C --ipadr 71.145.171.112 --port 1610
and hit OK. When you click on this shortcut, you'll automatically connect to the server.
Good luck, everyone!
