Now that the "Oh noes! It's the next MoO3!!1eleven!" posts have faded away, the site is almost tolerable. The reason I don't post there much is because most of the time Kwok's beaten me to the punch. That, and there just doesn't seem to be the same level of acceptence of my nonsensical ramblings over there.

As I visit the site now, I can see they've changed it -- but now it looks like a bit toy-like, as if it's trying to appeal to pokemon kids, instead of the gaming community. It's not something I care for and I think it hurts the site's overall value in apperance, but if others like it, that's good for them.

IMO the graphics tweaks they did recently are mostly improvements, and they finally changed the settings so that replies default to "re: < topic >" rather than requiring you to type in a subject header every time.

I still prefer this forum (especially the BBS interface), but I don't understand why so many folks around here seem actively hostile to that site.

You mean like SE5?

The colors and images used in the new theme were somewhat based on SE5.

A lot of people seem to be quite reactionary when it comes to publishers...

I main reason I don't use the other site, is the colour scheme. I find that after reading thru some items, I'm squinting when I flick to another application.
Yes it is changed now, but I still have the same problem.

It's no secret I dislike the graphics in SE5 too, and I understand they tried to connect the site to the game, I feel it wasn't a necessary thing to do and makes the site look somewhat unprofessional.

Heh, I prefer this forum probably because I technically don't play SEV...

Checking it out again, it does seem nicer than when I first went there (when it looked like nothing more than a badly configured free webboard, pre-release). But unbearably slow. Maybe their server is just having a bad day...
