Rumor had it that Ted Turner tanked the show when it was on his network because JMS didn't subscribe to the same political POV that Ted is famous for.

Kinda petty if you ask me but that is the way people have reported Ted to be.

It is well known that if George Lucas dislikes you, you aren't going to find funding for your projects. And that has seemed to have been the problem with all of JMS's projects since the mid 90's.

Then again, I cannot think of a single reason for George Lucas to hate JMS, so I have my doubts about this rumor.
