Ritual of Rebirth only works if they are heroes, and brings them back a mummies. The rank and file mage won't be helped.

Twiceborn will work and bring them back as wight mages, but they will have a pile of afflictions. Personally, at 9 death gems a mage, thats mighty expensive just to save a really afflicted mage.

Making anti-aging items, empowering in Nature, or using powerful Blood magic is the only way to stop aging.
