Last idea: Bob, was the mage who cast Magic Duel holding a Pendant of Luck? Did your mage cast Twist Fate/Personal Luck before Magic Duel? He may have lost the duel, but taken no damage because of the pendant/spells.

Ha ha ha. Yes it does. That's why you see dmg1006 above. I'm guessing the mage had a pendant though.

I was testing out Magic Duel a while ago and I saw in a very small percentage of cases someone just wouldn't die even though the graphic comes up. It might be Luck or Twist Fate, or there might just be a 1% survival chance.

Does twist fate protect against mind duel? Then you could twist fate before you attempted the spell.
