Re: MP blitzing invitation
Yeah I use opera. But if you join THAT chat room then be prepared to pick up and run some mods for a blitz. The guy that makes the CBM mod that changes many things in the game hangs out there and they really push using it in all of the games.
But you could always just create a new room called Dom3

Re: MP blitzing invitation
The honor of a whole channel just to get away from me!
A balance mod in this case would defeat the point of showcasing balance problems, anyway.

Re: MP blitzing invitation
I said "they"
It isn't just you. But the channel did seem to be more of a mod-blitz channel than a blitz channel.
Plus its not much of a place for someone who isnt already pretty good with the game. You mention a nation and hear something like "oh one of the weakest in the game". In fact I think that channel is a great place to get a pretender or scales or tactic reviewed by the experts if you can understand the conversation. But I did not think much of it as a place for new people to get into blitz games and try things out.

Re: MP blitzing invitation
Actually, it has been more of a no-blitz channel for a while now...
It's true that games there tend to have a higher ratio of veteran players, and involve mods more often than in an average forum game, but that's no reason for people to not be able to 'try things out'. It's not like it's some kind of game ladder where people are fighting tooth and nail to be the absolute winner, games are for the fun of it and whoever is the final winner tends to almost an afterthought.

Re: MP blitzing invitation
Yes. No need to use mods in the blitzes, and certainly less experienced players are welcome to utilize the room to organize noob blitzes, too.
I have played the game for quite a while now, but I still scratch my head when someone says a nation "weakest in the game," because I have not even played all the nations yet. Some of us are long-term noobs.
The more the merrier!

Re: MP blitzing invitation
I don't think mods are that prevalent in MP dominions. CBM maybe (for good reason) but very, very few nation mods etc.

Re: MP blitzing invitation
I was in 1 blitz with a few names around these here parts a few weeks ago as Jomon with the CBM running. It was a good time, and I was able to pull out my WW2 encyclopedias and read them while waiting for people to finish their turns.
