Isn't there an Is_Planet_Domed function? I believe I saw it in the modding documentation.

For those interested, the original discussion concerning atmosphere types has been resurrected over on se5.com, with certain usurpation of stock-type texture creation into a more broad array of texture types... ahem.

Does the Picture Index for AtmosphereTypes mean anything? It looks like there's a rough correlation between the "five columns" in Planets.bmp but it also looks like that correlation was basically discarded.

It determines the game setup icon used from Pictures\UI\Bmp_AtmosphereTypes.bmp.
