Ok, now I am getting pissed
After all the work I have done updating all of the NASY races, I now "NOW" get an error when I try to play them. I SPENT ALL DAY SATURDAY play testing them, after updating them, and did not GET ANY ERRORS!!!!!
Now I am getting a fricking FLEET defense percentage error!!!!! WTF. You know what, to hell with it. I am pulling the FLEET file from all of my races. If that does not fix the fricking problem then too hell with it. Tomorrow is a new day!

The odd thing is that it only gives me an error on a couple. Then, I start a new game, same races, and only get errors on a couple. Restart a new game same races, and differant races give me errors.

Perhaps GOLD is not Windows 2k compliant! -or- more likely Win2k is just not compatable with anything. Good old MS.

I have even done a wipe of all SEIV files, and reinstalled GOLD fresh. Still get the fricking errors.

Oh ya, every time I start GOLD, my firewall alarm goes bonkers. Can any one explain this???

 EDIT

Right now, I am really tied, fed up with the fricking errors I am causing, and generally just burned out on everything including SEIV. If anyone cares to work the problem on your end, by all means have at it. I just don't have the energy to figure it all out, update once again, upload the files, post, edit my profile, and update the NASY pages again today, tomorrow, or next week.

No offense, the game is awsome, it's just me.

Re: Ok, now I am getting pissed
Ok, deleting the Race_AI_Fleet file in all of the Star Trek & other NASY races files seemed to fix the ERROR.
I think I know what happened, and if it has, I will be having a really big tempor tantrum, and quite frankly busting the **** out of my POS AMD computer.

I do so sincerely hate Win2k and AMD combinations!

 EDIT

 I hate me!

NOTE: the errors I am getting are NOT SEIV Gold caused. (Duhhh We already knew this!) It has something too do with the way I set up the Fleet files. I used the AI_Fleet file for all the races, just modified it a tad. I think that when I did the copying over *today* for the zips I may have inadvertantly copied the old file, or simply did not update it.

 New EDIT

 - PROBLEM FOUND - when I updated the files, I updated the wrong files! The files I used for the zips were in one directory, (Called Completed -or- Masters) and I updated the source files, and not the masters. OH GOD I am so tired.............

Atrocities, settle down, relax, don't get apolplexy over this, take some time off and just take it easy, sometimes, its better to just walk away and come back to it later. You don't need the stress. Sometimes when one is working on a project, your too close to it to see the problem, you need to just pull the plug, go have a brewski or two and relax, then come back another time.

Take a week off from SEIV...go play something else. Nothing like a little FPS to distract.
We do appreciate all the hard work, though! (I'd say keep it up, but that kind of defeats the purpose of a break.)

Its not SEIV or what I am doing for the game that is stressing me out... Trust me, working on things for the game is the only thing that relaxes me.
Right now though I am a tad too tired to redo everything I did yestarday. So in the mean time, just delete the Race_AI_Fleet file from my races, and play til your heart is content.
Be back in a few days.

Had that error when I brought in my custom race to play over the weekend. What I ended up doing was copying the Terran Confed's fleet file into my race's directory and renaming the file.

I think there's just one little line in that file that you need to add in. After that, it should be fine.

There's no need to pull the files. I noticed a line missing in the ai_fleet files. Compare it to one of the original races and you'll see it as one of the Last entries on them. I fixed it by adding the line.

Hey Atrocities, it could be worse. You could have been anticipating your game for the Last four months, only to have it shipped and squished in your mailbox, so that the CD will no longer work. |
