Just like some others already said he would. Since R'lyeh was already sieging the castle, you only helped him by teleporting Rhuax there.

But he was seiging a castle that was not where the wish took place. I am puzzled.

Oh, that's true! For some reason he appeared in Iron Range (98), not Resting Heights (124).
