I downloaded this free game called Free Orion. I don't know that much about it but it seems like a noble try. Does any one here play it? If so, how do you build ships? I cannot add any to my queue

Free Orion is still in the early alpha stages, and has been at the same 0.3 milestone release for a few years now. :-\

This is a good start to a game that might be very good. I noticed they used a lot of DOGA models though. I wish they would have talked to me first. The models might have turned out a bit better.

It's version 0.3! Go ahead and revamp some of the models and go upload them to the development site. Some contributions might kick start some more work on the game.

You'll probably be able to find development guides that give the model specs somewhere on that site. If not, you can join the forums and ask.

The main page says that 0.3.8 was just released last week, so I would probably go with that one...
