				 I finally got SEV...now what?
Alright I finally broke down and bought SEV for $14.00. I installed the balance mode and some races. Are there any other mods that I should add to this? Where do you get the tampa_gamer sound mod I keep hearing about for SEV? Do the AI give you a better fight? What is the latest on fixes after 1.74? |

Does setting the setting.txt file to Multithread = True make a difference? I have a dual core 4400+. |

The multi-threading setting should help a bit on the graphics processing side.
Tampa's sound mod is here:

I'm not sure the multithreading setting does anything... In my testing, turning it on doesn't seem to cause SE5 to create any more threads than with it off, and CPU usage and framerates remained the same.
Another mod you might consider would be FQM. Balance Mod incorporates an older, graphics-lite version of it, but nothing wrong with updating it. http://fqm5.spaceempires.net/ |

It isn't entirely clear to me how you could really compete with the low low price of $15 , while still making it worthwhile. |

Well, I've been playing a bit and I'm so far having a good time. I'm sure how to best handle combat. Any suggestions? |
