Actually, even if you remove him from the movie, it really wasn't all that good.
Too many cliche and stupid things:
Darth maul - ooh, is that the devil?
Anniken - I wonder what this button does? oops, I blew up the whole ship (that controlled the entire robot army). As if there wouldn't be a back up. Give me a break!
Besides it being the Star Wars universe, which is cool, the effects were cool, nice technologies. But the story was just weak!

I don't mean to defend Lucasfilm, but read the few first chapters of any famous books, such as 20000 leagues under the sea or The Raven and tell me that it is not boring.
There is a thing called Rising action and Climax. We've already seen how it ends and the Climax so the Rising action seem weak.

Gungans are one of the coolest races in the starwars galaxy.
I don't like Jar Jar, but other gungans such as Boss Nass and Cap. Tarpals are among my favourite characters in all sw movies.
I feel that even Jar Jar will look fine in this movie.

Phantom Menace was on Fox Last night here in Philly. Reminded me all over again how irritating Jar Jar was .... and what a lame story that movie had.
The Attack of the Clones is by all reports way better, more serious and Jar Jar is only making a very, very brief appearance. Yeah! Hopefuly Jar Jar meets Darth Vader in Episode 3  |

But before Phantom Menace, 66.6% of the movies had included a Death Star exploding at the end ..... These movies set high expectations. |
