Re: The ssecret\'s out...
...and now if Richard could learn to spell "secret"
We are glad to have this awesome game! Thanks Aaron, you have a winner if the first 12 hours of Pre-sales are any indication.

Re: The ssecret\'s out...
For those of you who have not played any of the SE games, you're in for a treat! SE4 is like MOO 2 on steriods. Everything is customizable, and there are automated ministers for just about anything you don't want to do yourself. Of course, you can do everything if you want to.
You develop ships from components, and can save their templates for future games. Same is true for races.
Get the demo, and give it some time. It takes a while to get used to, but that's the price you pay to be able to do soo much!
Enjoy,
Aloid

Re: The ssecret\'s out...
The one big discouraging thing for me is that the game is going to be outrageously expensive in Canada if the only way to get it is ordering direct from Shrapnel. I figure the end price to be between $95 and $125 depending on shipping method...
Is there any hope that this will be appearing on store shelves???
Thanks,
Ransack

Re: The ssecret\'s out...
Hey Tim, sue me I was tired after getting stuff setup Last night .
As far as shipping...
The shipping to Canada is no where NEAR that much, how did you come to that.
And yes we do have eventual plans to land SEIV in stores, eventual plans...

Re: The ssecret\'s out...
Richard,
"on the shelves" means to deal with distributors...do yourself a favor and don't do it.
I want every single buck for the developers and not for marketing people or distributors...
I'm old fashioned but wise..

Re: The ssecret\'s out...
No I agree with you.
One reason we started Shrapnel Games was to give developers an alternative to the cutthroat world of mainstream publishing and retail.
However once a certain point of Online sales are done we will be going that route. Nothing is firm yet so go ahead and order up a game .

Re: The ssecret\'s out...
Shrapnel is a very nice and excellent publisher. I hope this is one company that sticks around for a long time since I'm very pleased with the service they have provided me.
One question, can you tell the secret?
