Neifel is in a terrible position, fighting 3v1 and losing badly.

You could probably just set Neifel to AI. Until a couple turns ago I was freely taking his provinces, even took some next to the capital with no resistance. I'd be fighting for his capital right now, but some squids came along and distracted me
