Let me know if its "successful and awarded full-rate production " by the end of Febuary and you can let me know if the USMC just tosses all it's 249's into the scrap bin when this starts being issued

Yup, I'll keep an eye on it.
I suspect what they'll do is replace the 249's at squad level and keep them most of the other places they've been used as replacements for M-60's/M-240's.
