Dysamoria,

Out of curiosity, do you have the mac patch installed? I know that before the 1.02 patch was released for mac, macs couldn't run most of the mods. The ones they couldn't run would crash all the time, or nearly all the time, depending on the mod. So if you don't have that patch installed, it might cause the symptoms you describe.
