Haha yeah, the best way to change a tanker's attitude is to put them in front of any kind of obstacle (say a river) then they remember there are other guys around who are useful.

I am guilty of creating those scenario series .

The map is as I find a typical Germany country terrain. There are several versions of the same Cold-War situation. A Tank division had mostly tanks so I maintained the same ratio.

Mobhack has excellently summed up how to fight as Russians against US.

I would only add the following (SPOILER ALERT):
-Check your air assets. There are some wild weasel planes, use them to scout the US air defense.
-Neutralize with Artillery+planes the air defenses detected.
-Send in the rest of your planes to soften up US resistance and scout their layout.
-Keep up the artillery pressure.
-Carefully start using the helicopters after you knocked out most of US air defense
-Proceed with land forces as Mobhack implied.
-Be ready for taking losses .
