if it is a morale 50 unit(or above 30?) it is NEVER supposed to retreat. but is it? i think it is the poison golemn that never retreats. check your units morale.
i have had all kinds of problems with SCs retreating in game. i wish i had a better answer for you. i also cannot figure the rhyme/reason for units going off script. keep seeing it, keep being told it shouldn't happen. but it seems to. i recently had about 25 turns of dai oni routing/going off script to the point where i could barely manage to open my turn files.
