Yeah, ISIS will probably be driven back underground pretty much by 2018, but hey, this is a fictional scenario!
Yep it's a campaign, and yes part of it takes place at the airfield. All I'm gonna say about that for now.
One of the reasons I'm setting it a couple years in the future, on the assumption that for one reason or another US (and other non Iraqi) military presence in the area is essentially non-existant. The MEU is there in the first place because of the tensions and the lack of other significant non-Iraqi forces.
