Sleepy Boy is on a distinguished road
Beer An open letter to the 2 devs, scenario designers, and AAR writers

Reading the manuals I was incredibly moved by this:
Quote:
"There is one kind of robber whom the law does not strike at, and who steals what is most precious to men: time." - Napoleon I
Despite a deep and sincere love for military history, I have never been able to get into Nappy as an era interest of study, so I'd never encountered this quote before. It sums up perfectly why I want to say thanks to you all.

I'd never encountered this sister series before but it was recommended on multiple reddit posts about turn based war games. I'm not even sure it's fair to call the free version a 'demo' given the amount of content that is there for you to actually try something fully before purchasing. In our hyper driven existence of sales for little to nought substance, this was an impressive way of doing business. A few scenarios in and I bought MBT, a few hours later, I bought WWII.

The AAR writers really helped cement going ahead and installing the free versions and trying them out. The following sounds counter productive but I promise it wasn't, I really enjoyed watching and reading the AAR's to unwind and drift off at bed time, plus you pick up more tips/tricks to try out the next day.

I know the following game is from a different company but I say this to illustrate how important finding WinSPMBT/WWII series has been in my physical world. This game has done for me with tactical series board wargames what The Operational Art of War IV did for me with operational scale board wargames. It has literally replaced a great many physical titles and given me back so much time that was previously being spent on keeping so many different rules sets straight for solo play. It has enabled me to enjoy playing a wargame solo so much more easily and readily than life and mental/physical health have allowed me of late with physical titles, which in turn has helped me immensely with living more intentionally.

I've really enjoyed running into scenarios directly inspired by board games. I even created a simple Excel template to log my plays. My losses/draws are far outstripping my wins, which for me is a great indicator of game longevity, never mind the stories and events that end up happening just like in a board or tabletop wargame.

Reading the forums to glean tips/tricks has also been encouraging at times because of people's openness and honesty about life and health. Again, it has been time well spent here.

From the bottom of my heart thank you for spending that which is most precious to us as human beings, time, you have spent your time for others enjoyment. Your posts, your stories and videos in AAR's. Your design work, your art work, your scenario design has further helped me continue to find enjoyment in things while being purposeful and intentional with how and where I spend my time and my money. This series is a phenomenal library of gaming work. The encyclopedia, scenarios and campaigns alone provide thousands of hours of entertainment. Combine this with both a random scenario/campaign generator and PBEM!? Eons of gaming fun. Simple as. Again, thank you.
