Which is really a damned shame, because I like the COLOR of MEthane worlds. Nice, deep purple and purply-red and purply-blue planets ...Quote:

 *sigh*
May be Fyron is talking about his Quadrant mod ?
In standard SEIV all atmospheres, exept None, are equal.

Methane is my favorite too. I do not like some CO2 planets - dull and dirty yellowish.
In FQM, all of the planets are set to random atmosphere.

Someone did an analysis of the appearance of planet types and atmospheres in the standard game a while back.

Having a rare tech and population means that yours are more valuable.Quote:

You don't have to worry too much about the other player reselling your tech, since he isn't going to give it away for free. There is only one other colonization tech that he could get in exchange for it anyways.

I think you are misremembering it. There is a like one more Methane/ice and one less methane/rock than the others, or something like that. But just by atmosphere it's equal except for None.Quote:

Methane/Ice and CO2/Ice are one of the rarest planets in the game. I mymself play Methane/Ice and i can tell that the payoff is that most of your planets are huge and/or rich.

That's odd... I tend to play with gas CO2 planets and I seem to find plenty of breatheables. And being gas giants, they're all medium or larger. |
