Alternate Stock Race Images - anybody interested ?

As much as I love this game, I've always been a little disapointed with the majority if the Stock Race images being just "floating heads", instead of a better image of what the particular race looked like.

With that thought in mind and a bored evening on hand, I worked up a couple of "alternate" images for the stock races that are based more on the AI description. I figured I'd post them here to get folks opinions and sahre them with whoever was interested.

Oooh..... I LIKE! But beware of copyrights, I've seen some of these before and not just in other shipsets.....

It is common courtesy to show credit where it is due - I think a text file listing the original sources for those images should be included in that archive.

Thanx guys, I appreciate the kind words. I actually have a ton of such extra race images, if anyone is interested.

Timstone - I'm not sure what you meant by non-floaters, though.

If you want some more infantry images to play with, take a look at http://www.dogscoff.co.uk/neostandexpansion.htm and http://www.dogscoff.co.uk/propresp.htm
Please include credit for any images of mine though, I worked hard on them. That includes the cue cappan image you used btw, I drew that.

Ask me nicely and for most of the images on those sites I can probably provide you with some higher-quality 512*512 (or larger) bitmaps to trim and resize from, should give you a better quality final image.

BTW - Nice pix!!!

One quick FYI : I wasn't trying to claim any undo credit with those images, just tossin' out there somethin' I'd fiddled with to pass the time. I'm not even entirely sure where some of those images came from, just that I tweaked 'em a bit to suit ME.
