Well, Arthur discovered the question to be "What do you get if you multiply 6 by 9", proving the universe to be a totally screwed-up place... but that question was proven wrong and it was found that if anyone ever discovered the actual question then the entire universe would disappear and be replaced by one even more complicated. (There is no knowledge of how many times this has happened already.)

We have the answer from Geo = "Yes it Is"
Now all we have to do is build a really big computer to figure out what the actual question is!

Actually the "QUESTION" is very simple.
"How many pubs must a man visit before he's totally blotto?"
Unfortunately the mice involved in the organising it WERE blotto at the time, so the question and answer became muddled http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

"The answer to the great question is 42!"
My wife disagrees. I was helping my son with Algebra homework, and I said "So X is equal to 8." My wife walked by about then and said "Eight? Eight! X is equal to 8? I spent a year in Algebra and never could figure out what X was, and now I find out that it's 8. Why didn't they just tell us? I can't believe I wasted all that time." She wandered out, muttering "Eight . . ."

But how is it possible to have to Ratings and have a average score of 3.35!????????????
1+5 = 6 / 2 = 3
2+5 = 7 / 2 = 3.5
2+4 = 6 / 2 = 3
No whole number / 2 should give a 3.35.
If I should have 3 votes, but I only got two.

Just to show you how much of a life I don't have. the 142nd post on this thread is by none other then me. And it would say: Ok Lemmy... time for you lesson on poking now. First of all when you extend your finger, you must also bend your elbow. Then have your feet 2 feet apart exactly. Once you've done this, start the forward motion with your arm and put all you weight on your right foot. Then go in for the final poke. That should do it... <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">So now you all know what thr 142nd post on here was.

Maybe only three friends.
One for the hundred's place.
One for the ten's place.
And one for the one's place.
Then they don't even need toes.
It's hard to count on toes anyway. They don't bend nearly so well as fingers.

Well, you can't see milk, because its butter.
Look when the cow is laughing, he shakes his body...and we all know that butter is made out of milk when stirr long enough.
So when a cow laugh butter is coming out off his noise.

the original title was "empty," because it contained an empty post that the author wanted ignored, because he could not delete it. lots of people replied, afirming that yes, it was indeed empty, which really bugged the author whom was embarassed to have created the thread by mistake. we keep posting here because no one wants him to live it down, and its an excuse to dredge up horrid attempts at humor that would never pass on a more reasonable thread.

The funniest joke in the world:
Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy takes out his phone and calls the emergency services.
He gasps: "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator says: "Calm down, I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence, then a gunshot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says: "OK, now what?"
--------------------------------------------------
Funniest joke in the states:
A man and a friend are playing golf one day at their local golf course. One of the guys is about to chip onto the green when he sees a long funeral procession on the road next to the course. He stops in mid-swing, takes off his golf cap, closes his eyes and bows in prayer.
His friend says, "Wow, that is the most thoughtful and touching thing I have ever seen. You truly are a kind man."
The man then replies, "Yeah, well we were married 35 years."
--------------------------------------------------
Funniest Joke in Uk, Germany, Belgium: Respectively:
A woman gets onto a bus with her baby.
The bus driver says, "That's the ugliest baby that I've ever seen. Ugh!"
The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her, "The driver just insulted me!"
The man says, "You go right up there and tell him off. Go ahead, I'll hold your monkey for you."
--------------------------------------------------
A general noticed one of his soldiers behaving oddly. The soldier would pick up any piece of paper he found, frown and say, "That's not it" and put it down again.
This went on for some time, until the general arranged to have the soldier psychologically tested. The psychologist concluded that the soldier was deranged, and wrote out his discharge from the army.
The soldier picked it up, smiled and said, "That's it."
--------------------------------------------------
Why do ducks have webbed feet? To stamp out fires.
Why do elephants have flat feet? To stamp out burning ducks.
--------------------------------------------------
Funniest Joke in Canada and Australia: Respectively:
When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300 Celsius.
The Russians used a pencil.
--------------------------------------------------
This woman rushes to see her doctor, looking very much worried and all strung out. She rattles off, "Doctor, take a look at me. When I woke up this morning, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw my hair all wiry and frazzled up, my skin was all wrinkled and pasty, my eyes were bloodshot and bugging out, and I had this corpse-like look on my face! What's wrong with me, Doctor?"
The doctor looks her over for a couple of minutes, then calmly says, "Well, I can tell you that there ain't nothing wrong with your eyesight ..."
--------------------------------------------------
It's sad isn't it?

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif Those are some good ones. Althought I don't agree with the first joke being the funniest in the world. It's close but not the best... I heard one the other day that is one of my most favorite now. It goes like this...
A pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel hanging from his pants. The bartender notices this and says, "Excuse me sir, but did you know you have a steering wheel hanging from your pants?" The pirate looks up at the bartender and says, "Arrr, it's driving me nuts!"
That is one of the best jokes I have ever heard. I died forever when I heard that one.

But putting Sally Struthers in orbit has a real danger of offsetting the gravitational balance of our system. I fear that she may draw the moon out of orbit.
And stray refuse (such as wrappers, bones, and KFC buckets) that falls out of her pockets endangers the earth with constant mereoric harassment.

Hey Look at this:
INDIO, California (AP) -- It may be the perfect date movie.
Each day, in a small movie theater here, curious patrons watch a short flick called "The Romance and Sex Life of the Date."
Don't get any funny ideas: It's about dates, as in the sweet fruit.
The Coachella Valley date harvest is in full swing and production is expected to hit 30 million pounds, said John Beck of the California Date Commission.
And one date producer, Shields Date Garden in Indio, isn't above using sex to help sell its share. Deceased founder Floyd Shields was a master marketer who came up with the saucy sounding movie in the 1950s. It runs continuously at Shields' 108-seat theater from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and is free.
"We still have people that ask us if they can take the children in," said 80-year-old Juanita Ottman, who works the counter at Shields.
The movie is the true story about how dates reproduce.
Date trees come in male and female Versions. Bees are drawn to the male's elaborate flowers, but avoid the female's. So workers cut off the male flowers, dry them and extract the pollen. The pollen is then applied to the female flowers.

If a stealth fighter crashes in a forest, and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
It takes a big man to cry. It takes an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.
I think in weightlifting, you shouldn't be automatically disqualified for sudden uncontrolled urination.
