Re: Netbooks and winSPMBT?
The stylus would be fine if not great for all the other commands besides scrolling. The scrolling is what I'd be worried about...that and I don't have enough money to burn on a tablet PC just because it might be cool to play SP on it hehe.

Re: Netbooks and winSPMBT?
Hi, I'm pleased to report that the Asus EEE 901XP plays WinSP in
1024 x 786 (768)? windowed mode. If you hitch up an external monitor, note that the directions in the Asus manual do NOT work,
i.e. use F5 to toggle between modes. You have to right-click on the
desktop and from the resulting short-cut menu: graphics options -->
output to --> monitor. This only plays windowed as well.

Re: Netbooks and winSPMBT?
Finally got the Advent 4211 (MSI wind clone from Dixons Group - Dixons, Currys, PC world etc).
The 4211 seems to be exactly the same as the MSI wind, but about 40 quid cheaper. No slip case provided with it (I think the wind has one in the box), no other differences I can spot.
Battery is the 3 cell one, and gives 2 hours ( a little more if you set the power saving mode on) - but 6 cell ones should be coming around Xmas time. 2 hours is better than the old IBM Thinkpad I used to have anyway, and the 1 kg weight is miles better!.
I dropped a copy of the game over on the wireless network, set it to windowed 1024 mode and it plays just fine on the 1024 by 600 screen.
I'll need a mini travelling mouse to play the game properly - the trackpad is no use for precision work, but that is the case for anything other than web browsing or word processing anyhow. I like it far more than the stiff-stick the old thinkpad had buried in the middle of the keyboard.
Cheers
Andy

Re: Netbooks and winSPMBT?
Forgot to mention: time on full battery charge is 5-6 hours. This is okay as I find I start making mistakes after about 5 hours anyway .Only downside so far on the the 901 is that you are not
exactly over endowed with disk space, about 16g total.

Re: Netbooks and winSPMBT?
It works good on my Acer Aspire One A110L (windowed 640x480, under WINE 1.1.5).
The Operative System is linux (a modified LINPUS distribution).
bye

Re: Netbooks and winSPMBT?
Got an MSI Wind, 10.1 inch screen, with the 160GB HD.
Hooked up my external DVD player and installed and patched to 4.5. Found that I can play 640x480 and 800x600 in full screen, everything else must be in window mode to play. The view in full screen is a bit stretched but not too bad. I haven't tried hooking it up to a monitor yet.
Veddy kool!
Cheers,
Wes
