Let's put it this way, I would look at it, I would consider it and if I liked what I saw and both Andy and I agreed it was OK I would use it BUT..... the first thing I found that was in any way out to lunch it would get chucked in the recycling bin. We have been bit on the *** in the past doing this so we are leering of doing it again and I'm not the least bit interested in dealing with anyone on a crusade to change the game ( I'm not suggesting you are..... I'm just stating my position ) and I'm not the LEAST bit interested in a "re-organized" OOB. It's up to you. If you can stand by your work AND ensure that the changes you might make, IF they affect other nations using Chinese equipment ,can be quickly brought in line, I'll take the time to look at it. I am right in the middle of going though the list of changes I want to investigate for the next release and a large number have already been made and I'm in the process of ensuring there are no " no photo available" units left in the game.

Okay, I'm starting to work on it.

I'm sticking to just basics now; checking the dates of entry of equipment, and did the Chinese actually buy it? A lot of stuff was developed for the export market; and never entered service with the PLA.

OK, keep in mind you don't want to delete anything. If it has to be removed you need to re-nationalize the unit and mark it with an * in the name so it can be spotted. The "Export" stuff COULD be set up in it's own formations and put in the misc folder.

Also keep in mind I've only agreed to look at this.

I suggest it be released as a mod first. It can then be tested by the players that choose to.

Once it is stable, it could be concidered for a future patch.

I wouldn't want to see it tossed out because of some mistakes in an early version.

Don't know if I'll ever play with the Chinese but...

Don, No deletions have taken place; what I do is rename them as "Type 85-IIM====" and change their nationality to 0; which effectively removes them from the game.

So far, I've only actually added one new unit and weapon:

Unit 585 - "S-300PMU1" New Unit; clone of 586, with new weapon 148 being used. Date of entry 2000.

Weapon 148 - Brand new; Clone of Russian Weapon 218; named "48N6 S-300"

EDIT: Dick Burleigh really did a good job on this one, given that reliable information on the Chinese Armed forces wasn't readily available until recently in english.

EDIT II: There's already an "Export" Formation; Formation 011: Export Tank Pl; I changed it by changing it's dates to 1/83 to 12/120; it was originally a small 2000-2010 unit.
