Default A request for help.

I downloaded paint shop pro and created my LBM. It now looks all fuzzy in game. I cannot get rid of the colour in the picture even though I tried to create the thing with little or no colour using what I thought was a black and white template.

I am not happy with the way it looks when minimised either. I will upload the full size version and anyone who wants to help turn it into a proper LBM please, please, please help. It is in its origional jpeg format. It therefore is much bigger and more colourful than it should be.

It is a mishmash assault rifle I designed. Part G36 and part Sig with some other HK gun parts. It looks rather nice (how I think a modern G36 should look like, without all the labour/cost saving minimalistic star-trek crap attached to it).

I'm not a graphic designer, nor do I know anyone on this board who's specialty is lbm design and creation or even manipulation. If you don't like the way it looks and you don't like how it keeps turning out, then likely the people who would help you would run into the same problems.

1) Black and white - use the PSP tool to make a greyscale image of your JPG. I cannot recall - but it is on the menu. (I do not have PSP any more, and last made an LBM a year or more ago). Then save the JPG as a B&W, use it as the base for LBM conversion.

Actually - best to save as a PNG as that is a loss-less compression, whereas JPG is a lossy compression, so converting a JPG and saving again as JPG has added more "loss" to your process.

2) LBM Palette - see the PSP help about how to extract from an existing LBM, and extract the palette from one of our B&W LBM. Save that, ansd use as your LBM palette in any future work. See the PSP help file for details. You must have the correct LBM pallete, or you will see a smear of mush in the game (but not in Mobhack).

Cheers
Andy
