I'm willing to give up ALL of my money, time, and attention and everything else I've got, IF she's the right one!

By the way, it should be no problem getting to 1000 Posts... it's just a matter of time! I wonder how long it will take to get to 10,000?

A mother took her daughter to the doctor and asked him to give her an
examination to determine the cause of her daughter's swollen abdomen. It
only took the doctor about 2 seconds to say "Your daughter is pregnant."

The mother turned red with fury and she argued with the doctor that her
daughter was a good girl and would never compromise her reputation by having
sex with a boy.

The doctor faced the window and silently watched the horizon. The mother
became enraged and screamed, "Quit looking out the window! Aren't you paying
attention to me?" "Yes, of course I'm paying attention, ma'am. It's just
that the Last time this happened, a star appeared in the East, and three
wise men came. I was hoping they'd show up again......."

Or what? Well read the whole thread and you will learn alot of meaningless stuff. It's rather comical too. But the whole point is just to post stuff that makes no sense at all and it's totally wacky. If you do that you are completly welcome to be here. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
On a related note: I got to put masking tape all over a house today! It was so much fun. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif A couple of my friends are getting married in a couple weeks (the 30th) and their house just came in wednesday. It's just across the creek from my house. And they are going to paint the walls because the people in there before smoked and so the walls were all yello and nasty. So we put masking tape up today, painting tomorrow. Probably start moving stuff in slowly by next weekend. A lot of stuff to do before the wedding.

Ok, Daynarr, that was a prime example of what to do. Absolutly no one cares about anything I just said. But I said it anyways. But it's even better if you can get some totally goof ball stuff in there. Like: I saw a Flying Gopher with spider wings! Or something like that. Ok, I'm shutting up now. I'm just rambling on here tonight.

I'm sure I said that all in vain as now that I look at your post again you had a " http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif " in there. So that must mean you were being sarcastic and asking that question. Now that makes me look like a complete idiot posting all this information.

where s^2 is the variance and m is the mean of x.
This defines a 'normal' or 'Gaussian' distribution which is shaped like the classical bell curve. 'Normal' people are centered about the mean, m, where the distribution is the highest, while weird people are at the extremes where there are only a few individuals. The further away one is from the center, the rarer and weirder one is. The mathematician, Karl Friedrich Gauss, who came up with this, was a weird guy himself, thinking up complex mathematical theorems from the time he was a kid.

Incidentally, nobody who Posts here is normal.

Hmmm, 84 times in a row, that would be hard to accomplish since by the time you got to like 8 in a row someone else would post or an admin would ban you for trying to bump your post count up there. But I agree, 3 is the limit indeed.

And correct, I linked to another site for those smileys. I assume (not good) that you found the site I linked from alright?

I've read through all the pages of this thread, but I still haven't had the time to read all the pages in the Cantina. I'm still wondering what all this stuff about onions and the vegetable god is all about. Why does Fyron say "Onions!" when entering the Cantina? Well, I gather that it's no longer necessary to say that because the vegetable god went away somehow, but I'm unclear on how all this got started or what it means. When I have a few hours free one evening, I'll read the whole thing from start to finish...

How about the one with Rodney Dangerfield (I forget the title) ? "Son, remember... you're a Mellon." "Whoever wrote this didn't know a thing about Kurt Vonnegut!" "What's a bath without Bubbles ?"

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Copying and pasting will be faster if you select all the lines to copy each time you do it. Don't just copy one line and keep pasting it over and over. Type one line, copy and paste it, and then you have will two. Now copy the two lines and paste them, and now you have 4, and so on. So with each step you double the number of lines. Then it will take only 20 steps to get to a million!

Uh, oh, apparently, world domination is a very competitive endeavor. Being a member of the DNRC, I thought that I was assured a place in the ruling class once the world is taken over by Dogbert. When Dogbert takes over the world, the non-ruling class, composed of induhvisuals, will become our slaves, and they will spend their time waving their arms about to circulate the air, carving the family emblem onto soap, and doing other useful activities.

To join Dogbert's New Ruling Class (DNRC), you need to Subscribe to the Dilbert newsletter.
Find out about it here: http://www.dilbert.com/comics/dilbert/subscriptions/index.html

Of course World dominations competitive, thats why i'm planning to destroy the world, that way theres no competition and leaves me to carry on with my plan of Universe Domination! I like to think big...

Sparhawk, what was the meaning of "????546456" ? I guessed that we were supposed to figure out what the four numbers ???? are by looking at the rest of the pattern, and my answer is 5262546456. Or is it some totally meaningless gibberish?

Oh, no, did somebody post some useful information? It's OK, we'll make up for it by posting tons of nonsense!! And if you have blown up, you can heal yourself by eating a senzu bean. I hear that everything is free at the Cantina right now because someone is generously paying for everyone's orders!

actaully kamog, i would be interesting in knowing how you came up with that answer. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">OK, this is how I got my (wrong) answer:

The question was:
????546456

Let's label the digits as follows:
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">? ? ? ? 5 4 6 4 5 6
k0 k1 k2 k3 k4 k5 k6 k7 k8 k9</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I started off guessing that we are supposed to figure what the four numbers represented by ???? are, by looking at some sort of pattern in the Last six digits that are given. If this original premise is wrong, then my whole reasoning is wrong.

We can see that the next number in the series is not solely based on some sort of formula that uses the previous number, as k5 and k7 are both 4, but the next digits, k6 and k8, are not the same. Therefore, the next number may be based on two or more of the previous numbers using some sort of rule.

Furthermore, the next number is not based on the previous two numbers in the series. Notice that k4 = 5, k5 = 4, and k6 = 6. If k6 were based on some formula that uses only k4 and k5, then the rule may be commutative (meaning it gives the same result when the order of the two numbers is switched), as the same two numbers later produce the same result (k7 = 4, k8 = 5, k9 = 6).

However, this rule doesn't work elsewhere because k5 = 4, k6 = 6, which produces k7 = 4, but k6 = 6, k7 = 4, which results in k8 = 5, a different number. Therefore, the next number is not based just on the previous two numbers.

So I looked for patterns in the numbers.
(1) If you take one of the digits, skip the next digit, and then subtract it from the first number, you get the following pattern.
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">k4 - k6 = -1, k5 - k7 = 0, k6 - k8 = -1, k7 - k9 = -2
5 - 6 = -1, 4 - 4 = 0, 6 - 5 = -1, 4 - 6 = -2 </pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"></font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">Thus we have: ?, ?, ?, ?, -1, 0, -1, -2.
So a pattern might be -5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, -1, -2.</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Then it follows that k3 - 4 = -2, so k3 = 2; k2 - 5 = -3, so k2 = 2, k1 - 2 = -4, so k1 = -2, and k0 - 2 = -5 so k0 = -3.
Then the answer will be
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">-3 -2 2 2 5 4 6 4 5 6
k0 k1 k2 k3 k4 k5 k6 k7 k8 k9 </pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">However, I rejected this solution because of the negative numbers.

(2a) Notice that k4 + k5 = 9, k6 + k7 = 10, k8 + k9 = 11. We have an arithmetic progression where the sum of each pair of numbers increases by 1 for each successive pair. Continuing this pattern, we have k0 + k1 = 7 and k2 + k3 = 8.

(2b) Also, the odd pairs, k5 + k6 = 10, and k7 + k8 = 9. From this pattern, we have k1 + k2 = 12 and k2 + k3 = 11.

So we seem to have two progressions: the sum of the even pairs are increasing by 1 with each pair, and the sum of the odd pairs are decreasing by 1 with each pair.

Using this pattern, we get the following answer by solving (2a) and (2b) for k0, k1, k2, and k3.
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">-3 10 2 6 5 4 6 4 5 6
k0 k1 k2 k3 k4 k5 k6 k7 k8 k9</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">This answer, too, was rejected because of the -3 and the 10. (We can't have two digits within one digit!)

(3) Notice that k9 + k7 = 10 and k7 + k5 = 8. If this pattern is carried back, we should have k5 + k3 = 6 and k3 + k1 = 4.
Then, 4 + k3 = 6, therefore k3 = 2, and from 2 + k1 = 4, we get k1 = 2.

If we solve for k0, k1, k2, k3 by using (2a) and (3) we get:
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;"> 5 2 6 2 5 4 6 4 5 6
k0 k1 k2 k3 k4 k5 k6 k7 k8 k9 </pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Which seems like an OK answer

If we solve it using (2b) and (3) we get:
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">? 2 10 6 5 4 6 4 5 6
k0 k1 k2 k3 k4 k5 k6 k7 k8 k9</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Which is invalid because we don't know what k0 is, and k2 has two digits.

So now I stopped looking and submitted 5262546456 as my answer, which is the only 'good' answer I found.

But it turns out this is wrong and the correct answer is "654645????". I don't know why, only Sparhawk knows. Looks like he simply reversed the order of the string of characters.

1:1 In the beginning, the forum was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of its pages. And Mighty Ruatha said, Let there be an Empty Thread, and there was the Empty Thread. And Ruatha saw the Empty Thread, and it was good. Then Ruatha said, let there be useless Posts in this Thread, and it was so, and Ruatha saw that it was good.

1:5 And Ruatha said, Let this Empty Thread have a Name, a changing Name, and it was so, and Ruatha saw it was good. And then Ruatha commanded us, saying, in this thread thou mayest freely post, but of useful information, thou shalt not post in excess of one per 200 Posts, for in the day that thou posteth more than that thereof, thou shalt surely die.

1:7 Verily, Ruatha saith unto us, behold this Shoe. And Ruatha cast His Shoe, and It left his hand, and there It was suspended in the air. And Ruatha commandeth, thou shalt throw thy shoe as I have done.

The first guy says, "Oh, I don't know; how about Nuclear Power?"

The other guy says, "OK, that could make for some pretty interesting conversation. But let me ask you a question first: A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff, but the deer excretes pellets; the cow, big patties; and the horse, clumps of dried grass. Why is that?"

The first guy says, "I don't know."

The other guy says, "Oh? Well then, do you really think you're qualified to discuss Nuclear Power when you don't know sh..?"

ROFLOL! That was a good one man. Got a good laugh out of it.

A blonde, a brunette, and a redhead all work at the same office for a female boss who always goes home early.

"Hey, girls," says the brunette, "let's go home early tomorrow. She'll never know."

So the next day, they all leave right after the boss does. The brunette gets some extra gardening done, the redhead goes to a bar, and the blonde goes home to find her husband having sex with the female boss! She quietly sneaks out of the house and returns at her normal time.

"That was fun," says the brunette. "We should do it again sometime."

"No way," says the blonde. "I almost got caught."

Kamog, what if you don't wear shoes? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">If you don't wear shoes, then you can throw your slipper, or your roller blade, or your boot, or whatever you have on your foot. If you like to walk around in bare feet, then you need to go and buy a pair of shoes. (Or, you might be able to save some money by catching a shoe thrown by one of us.)

no, this is a religion of Ruatha, the god of Nonsense Shoes. You must convert, or follow the leader http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

Well, technically, you don't HAVE to have a pair of shoes. You can just have one shoe and throw that. It doesn't even have to be one of your own shoes. You can throw somebody else's shoe.

I'd give you one of my shoes, but for some reason I keep losing them.

That looks like a fabulous temple of Ruatha. How about having a huge city full of temples like that, all made of solid gold?

No matter the size, but we'll need a solid gold, with emeralds, statue of Mighty Ruatha, casting his shoe to show the believers the true way of Ruatha.

Ruatha is a false deity. Stop worshiping him and his shoes. It is sad, really.
