Help understanding Caelum cold armor bonus
 Hi guys,
I've started up my second game and am playing Caelum in a 12 person single player game.

I'm working on buildling up my army and a lot of their troops have ice armor which is supposidly better in a colder climate. Anyone have a link to more information on this or is it somewhere in game?

I'd like to know what kind of bonuses I'd be looking at to decide if I want to use them for defense or something.

 thanks

2 points more prot per cold scale of the province they're in, IIRC. |

Does it get 2 points LESS prot per heat scale then? |

I would assume so. I always thought it was +/-1, +2 seems like too much. |

The icearmor value is set separately for each unit and could be any number. You could e.g. put #icearmor 8 on some unit in a mod and it would +/-8 points of prot per cold scale from its armor.
Temple guards have icearmor 2 at least, their base prot with armor is 18 and goes up to 24 in cold 3, down to 12 in heat 3.

Taking it a step further, start building temples early to push your dominion out. You want everywhere you fight to be cold. Then, depending on your long term plan, consider some of the global spells that take effect in your dominion. Wrath of God is fun! Gift of Health would go nicely with your units with extra ice armor and the morale bonus that comes with fighting inside your dominion. |

The ice armour actually makes a pretty big difference and it's something you should certainly take into account. Fighting in cold 3 they get a whole lot tougher to take down. |
