Hi, are you sure that you got the game from Shrapnel or one of their official resellers. If you have been handed an unofficial copy by some devious pirate you might experience that the game hangs or craches. I'm not sure how this plays out, but I seem to recollect that the 'convarmy-whatever' is such a crash.

If you have bougth the game from Shrapnel your CD-key should be present on the inside of the cover of the manaul. Try to reinstall the game and use the CD-key from your manual. If this doesn't work, please contact Shrapnel or us.

If you actually have an unlawful copy of the game I hope that you will find it good enough to be worth a buy .

Actually, I found it on Ebay. Did I do something illegal, or..?

No. Buying things off eBay is not illegal at all. But if the game came without a manual, it was probably a pirate copy to begin with. In such a case, the CD-key was probably known and blacklisted, so it would cause the crashes. If the game had a manual with it, it should be legit. Do you have one?

Dr. Strangelove, if nothing else you got your wish of a dev response. Kristoffer O (KO) is one of the 3 chaps (that's right, there are only 3 of them) who have made the game. That's kind of like getting Sid Meir(sp?) to answer your post.

Actually we're only 2. And I'm not nearly as powerful as Sid. Sid is surrounded by a halo of inner light, while I'm just surrounded by a constant noice (high school students). That makes me more communicative

Oo.

Hm, I think I got a manual...did any other manual, short of that massive 300 page-thing I've read about(yet do not have), be released with the game?

<_<..thanks for all of your help, really. I've been playing the game in 3.08, and other than the fact I suck and don't know how to research, it's alot of fun.

Nope. The 300 page manual by Bruce Geryk is the only official one. If you don't have it you probably have been decieved by an evil e-bayer.

Research is easy, just give your mages the research order and chose what school to research in the magics menu. After a couple of turns you have access to a bunc of new spells.

The game would be a lot more understandable if you had a manual

I'd imagine if I did indeed have that Necronomicon-wannabe that I would be able to play the game easier..

Well, I'm sorry for buying a pirated version of the game. The game came in the box, with it's CD key on a sheet of paper. I've gotten games like this before, thought nothing of it because it said it had been used, and hey, people lose manuals. Hell, that's the first thing I tend to lose.

But, thanks for being so helpful. The game *is* fun..

We all make mistakes, and yours is an understandable one. The game actually does not come in a box at all, it just comes with a 300-page manual (ring binder type), with the CD-key attached inside the front cover and the CD itself in between the manual somewhere. That's how mine arrived. If you really like the game, you can get one through Shrapnel. We'd be glad to have you here if you do that.
