You weren't doing anything wrong, as long as you gave the Titan blood slaves. The AI just decided that it was smarter than your script.
Is there a way to force a script over those AI think it is smater situations ?

As my pretender that used Infernal Prison to get easily rid of the Slave of Unreason was scripted just to "Cast Spell" , i wonder why, despite the Titan ignored the scripted "Infernal Prison", he never used the "Infernal Prison" by itself, as the second order in its script was to "Cast Spell".

I just notice in the manual that the range is 30 , i begin to wonder if it is possible the distance between the Titan and the Horror was just a bit more than 30.

I don't remember exactly where i placed the Titan on the army setup though.
I think it was to the bottom, as before i used this prophet to trample "rearmost" enemy, adding more distance i guess, but as i never played with the grid, is "30" a long or average range ?

oh yeah... how'd he flee to a water province? That's wierd in itself.
My besieged castle was on the coast.
As in the end of the 59 turns battle he was running away, without any damage, and despite i was owning every nearby province, he was nowhere to be seen, so i "think" he decided to run away in one of the nearby water province.
As i don't see how it could have died otherwise ?

EDIT

Are you sure you was in range? The 2 Prison spells have both a range of 30. If both commanders are set in the center the range is a little more than 30. I would assume the horror attacked you directly (so he was in range) but maybe he didn't.
Thanks , so that must be the explanation , as i began to wonder.

Just look at the battle display and press P for pause and G for grid, then you can count how many squares are in-between. If you are distracted by the terrain then you can press W instead of G, too.

A land based unit should never flee into water. I hope.

the water thing is weird.

but yeah, script him to attack one turn a couple of times to get him in range, then throw the infernal prison.

The tartarian creatures are all poor amphibians so they can enter the sea and thus also retreat into sea provinces.

...and thus not die when they retreat into them. The Titan's disappearance sounds like either a bug (there are, very occasionally but sometimes very agonizingly, cases when commanders just disappear, and this has been around at least since Dom2), or else a failure to notice something or to consider something.

For the spell, it was indeed a problem of distance, as i checked with the grid , and the titan being in the bottom of the screen, it seems its distance to the target exceeded 30 cases.

For the titan disappearance, as reading again the hall of fame i see that this Tartarian titan is NOT having the amphibian icon and so maybe it can indeed have died IF he had actually retreated in the water (just a guess, i actually do not know why he died).

The Slave of Unreason disappeared too some turns after anyways and so ceased to besiege the castle.

I don't have the save of this specific turn, but in a very later turn , the titan (Iphianassa) is in the hall of fame confirmed as dead (and while i spotted no afflictions when he ran away, in the hall of fame he has 2 of them).

Notice the funny fact that the Slave of Unreason (Kurgi) is actually the leader of the Hall of Fame
