Luck gives you more random events, and it increases the chance of getting good events, and it makes some specific events more likely or perhaps even possible. It does not make you immune to unlucky events (it'd be a bit silly and dull if it did IMO - this is a game of probabilities and possibilities, about beating the odds and overcoming difficulties - not about already having full divine control), and of course the value that matters in the one in each particular province each turn.

I've had plenty of good results with Luck scale (in MP as well as SP, of course). In a couple of MP games where I took Luck, I got a hero on turn 1. I've received many magic items which I could not have forged with my national mages, including path boosters (!) and piles of gold, dozens of gems, etc. Sometimes it feels like I get similar results repeatedly in the same game, but I think that is a combination of human nature to note coincidences and patterns amidst chaos, and also that other scales besides Luck and Turmoil shape the events you get. Also sometimes it's because someone is casting anonymous attack rituals at you which appear like random events - Luck scale makes it easier to guess that those are attacks, compared to when you have Misfortune and you're just getting what you paid for.

I am aware that luck 3 increases your chances of random events, and some of them can be bad.

But over the course of the last 3-6 months, I have seen a trend of that particular event occur more than any other "bad" event in 3 luck provinces.

Enough that i do not think it can be coincidence. Of course i get other "bad" random events also, but none as consistently as that one. I think it is worth investigating.

In the 62 player game, I took misfortune 2. And I haven't had a single bad luck event, and at least 4-6 good luck ones. Some minor, but it helps.
It is what it says it is, "Luck."

I pretty much always go with misfortune 3 in any game. The sad, bad thing of it is, you're just as likely, in my experience, to get bad things happening with negative 3 luck, as you are with 0 luck, so what's the point? I just keep the points and spend them on gigantic blesses or rainbow mages.
