Flambeau does not do fire damage, it does 3x damage against demons and undead + the fire effect. Fire resistance on demons only protects against the extra fire, they take 3x damage from the normal blow, meaning 3x(str+weapon damage) and that's going to hurt.

Aye, they come with one of the SC Pretenders, Kali I believe. Virtue, another SC comes with a Flambeu too. Good stuff if you are going up against EA Yomi.

Yep, the Kali. Davana's have similar weapons that affect mortals instead.

Yep, so the real issue is not what demonslaying weapons there are out there, but rather how many demonslaying options are available to enemy nations at different points of the game.
Given the late-game availability of battlefield-effect demon-smacking spells, using demons as chaff may not be a good idea, though I defer to those who have more experience as demon-handlers

Yeah, it's like tanks in modern wars. Sure, you can use anti-tank weapons to take them out, but you can't really depend on having them on hand every time they show up.
Anti-daemon measures are quite effective, if you've got them at hand.
