Default Game Settings that help the AI?

I'm curious if anyone has a game setup where the AI is a stiff(er) challenge. Or if you just have individual game settings that help the AI more than they help you. For instance, max out Supply so the AI doesn't starve.

More specifically, is there a way to set up the cumulative victory points in such a way that the AI could win if the human player didn't take decisive steps to stop them? Perhaps combined with very difficult research so you couldn't get to Faery Trod and Teleport right away?

And for the inevitable, "AI sux" post, I KNOW. Let's just grant that as Truth and go from there.

You can set them all to impossible, up the supplies, and choose settings that don't favor your own play style. Crowding with many AI's gets you into early wars which limits use of as many fancy high-powered magics which the AI isn't good at. So does adjusting other settings that favor combat over magic: high gold and resources, slow research, low magic sites, and mods such as my "Price of Power" mod or Illwinter's restricted magic mods.

Limiting your own use of tactics the AI doesn't use helps a lot, too. I like to choose a thematic play style for my nation and stick to it. Or if you are interested in "fair play," don't let yourself use tactics you know the AI doesn't use effectively.

Setting indies to strength 7 seems to be fairly optimal against impossible AIs. It slows down the player's early expansion significantly more than the pathetic str 5 indies but allows the AI to make large gains early due to the resource and gold bonuses it gets. Depending on the AI nation and its scales, you may come up against quite a juggernaut and with difficult research it can be hard going.

Map editing commands include a #cannotwin command which excludes a spesific race from VP victory. That combined with cumulative victorypoints would do what you wanted.

Not setting to many AI's for the moment . AI have trouble sieging enemy AI castles in latest version and will have their giant armies standing around enemy castles doing nothing.
